- Orchestra stalls- balls (testicles)
- Oxford scholar- dollar
- Strike me dead- bread
- Ship in full sail- ale
Now construct your own version of Cockney rhyming slang for the following words:
- Chair- Bears beware (Chairs should be sturdy so that people like Goldilocks will not break them)
- House- Government louse (Government officials that suck money from our paychecks to collect taxes)
- Coat-Cashmere goat (Some coats are cashmere which we get from goats)
- Eggs- Hen's keg (Kegs hold things just as eggs contain young fowl)
- Pencil- Hansel's stencil (Hansel's tool for drawing stencils)
This was not in the book but I thought of one additional one:
- spouse (female)- lady of the house
- spouse (male)- master of the house
